Telecommunication services billing system – UBP Telecom
UBP Telecom – telecommunication services billing system, dedicated to telecommunication operators and service providers.
Main functionality:
- Call Detail Record (CDR) processing
- Rating
- Postpaid billing
- Prepaid services billing
- Partner services management
- Interconnect services billing
- Generating and printing invoices.
Call Detail Record (CDR) processing
The CDR registered by one or more network elements is collected and converted by CDR Repository module for further billing processing.
Rating
The usage of services is grouped by each subscriber according to certain tariffs. The cost of services provided is calculated according to valid tariffs and time of usage (minutes or transferred data size).
Postpaid billing
Postpaid billing module provides the functionality to manage products, product packages offers, sets of products and services and constantly follows the service rules for each subscriber.
The formation of invoices is done according to the data rating rules. Credit limit management is used to initiate restriction of service. Main external interfaces:
- Interface to network elements
- Interface to General ledger system for controlling payables and receivables
- Interface to Print house companies, responsible for printing and handling invoices to subscribers.
- Outgoing calls to other networks warning
- Number portability status checking.
The balance of subscriber’s account is being checked during the call process and associated with the dialing number. The maximum duration of call depends on the dialed number, time of the call, type of the day and assigned to the charging plan.
Main external interfaces:
- Interface to Network elements for performing call setup and controlling call process
- Interface to Network elements for controlling usage of services
- Interface to General ledger system for controlling payables and receivables.
Partner service module enables the calculation of commissions based on percentage or fixed amounts of the sales.
Partner service module is functioning according to the agreement conditions between operator and resellers. Calculation of commissions depends on:
- Number of subscriptions during the last period
- Monthly fee for partner subscribers
- Fee of the service usage.
Interconnect services module is designed for billing of network interconnect services: originating, terminating and transit calls.
CDR repository will generate extra CDR data for every call attempt originated or terminated in distant network. If operator is using dedicated network element for network interconnection, CDR will be mediated from it and processed for interconnection rating.
Interconnect service rating tariff depends on the combination of the following parameters:
- Origin operator or network zone
- Interconnection path from origin
- Destination operator or network zone
- Interconnection path to destination.
- Settlement statement for every operator, indicating receivable volume from Operator
- Payable statement for every Operator, allows to compare received Settlement Statement with Customer’s own data
- Revenue per Interconnect Service, presenting revenue earned from the particular Service or Service Code
- Itemized telephone calls bill for every Operator, presenting the price or cost of every single call.
